Uganda is one of the few countries in the world where the latitudinal imaginary line that divides the earth into two halves passes. It is noted that the equator lies equidistant from the North Pole and the South Pole and happens to be the longest line of latitude (just under 25,000 miles long).
It has been said that water spirals down plug holes in different directions depending on which hemisphere you are in. This is based on the effects of Coriolis, which refers to when the rotating earth causes the winds to deflect to the right in the northern hemisphere and the left south of the equator. The effect Coriolis has on water going down sinks is minimal. And this is one of the experiments you ought to try out while at this equator stop.
