The 5 days safari will take you through Kidepo Valley National park one of Africa’s most magnificent wildernesses, Big game favorites Elephants, Giraffe, Zebras, Elands, Hartebeests, Lions, Hyenas and Cheetahs perhaps Africa’s largest single herd of Buffalos roam rolling grasslands that extend in all directions towards distant mountain ranges, Guru guru caves is located Lamoji sub county in Amuru district northern Uganda 25km from Gulu town a site where the British colonialist tried to impose their rule on the Acholi people who retaliated under their ruler Rwo otto Yai that sparked off the famous Lamoji rebellion, other site attractions include the Northern Monkeys which can be seen on trees a long with variety of birds while Zziwa Rhino sanctuary located in Nakasongola district is the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda Nyero rock paintings Situated 8 kilometers west of Kumi town on Ngora Road in Eastern Uganda, Nyero rock paintings are so amazing for sight-seeing. This is an early Iron Age stone site and the paintings on the rock are found in three rock havens. A portion of the paintings on Nyero Rock symbolize animals, canoes and concentric circles. The Nyero rock paintings are claimed to have been modeled by the early people who settled in the area, finally the Trip ends with a rewarding 3hour bout cruise at the source of the Nile giving you beautiful sundown views of the Nile waters the cruise is rewarded with lots of wild life inclusive of Monitor Lizards, crocodiles along with lots of Birdlife like African kingfisher, Fish Eagles, Herons, Sunbird and many more.

Safari Summary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport Uganda.

Day 2: Travel to Gulu via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Guru Guru Caves

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park.

Day 4: Game drive in Kidepo valley National park and transfer to Kumi District.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/Airport via Nyero rock paintings in Kumi district and Source of the Nile in Jinja.

 

 

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport Uganda.

Our English speaking tour guide will pick you from Entebbe international airport on your arrival to Uganda and transfer you to the Hotel.

Day 2: Travel to Guru via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Guru Guru Caves in Amuru district.

The adventure fully parked safari starts after an early breakfast our tour driver/guide will debrief you through your five 5days Uganda safari, at exactly 7:00am you will start your journey 3hours drive to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking located in Nakasongola, 176km north of Kampala. You will be guided through the only ranch rhinos in Uganda you will also enjoy other wildlife like African Elephants, monkeys inclusive of the rich birdlife you will then en-route to Kabalega resort for 1hour lunch break before hitting the road again for a 4hours journey leading  to Amuru district for the Guru Guru caves historical site, a site where the British colonialists tried to impose their rule on the Acholi people who retaliated under their ruler Rwo otto Yai that sparked off the famous Lamoji rebellion, other on site attractions include the Northern Monkeys which can be seen on trees along with variety of birds  the rock terrain on Guru guru rocks offers the clear view of the north every step taken is a tune to the dance, the rock climbing will require you to have your hiking shoes on, later we shall retreat for 1hour drive to Guru town for Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park.

Early morning breakfast at the hotel and after transfer to Kidepo valley National park from Guru town 275km through plain lands of Paider and Kitgum on the way to park being the land of Nomadic pastoralists one can always have of a glance of large herds of cattle and small hurts (manyatta) homesteads reaching in the early afternoon check in at our accommodation for your lunch and afternoon relation later in the evening have a guided village walk in Karenga village to checkout the famous manyatta karamajong homestead settings, you will have a cultural performance checkout their art and craftsmanship before heading back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Game drive in Kidepo valley National park and transfer to Kumi District.

Raising to the sounds of mother nature after your early morning breakfast you will head for a 3hours Morning Game drive in Africa’s true wilderness along the Kanangorok hot springs checkout the springs the area also has variety of wildlife like herds of Buffalos, Giraffes, on the lucky day you can also spot Lions, cheetahs, leopards as well as the Ostrich proceed to the famous Narus valley as most of parks wildlife congregates here this area has adequate circuits where you will view wildlife at close range. The Katurum kopje provides superb views north across the valley towards Morungole mountain range, you will head back to the Lodge for Lunch, after you will leave the park and transfer to eastern Uganda Kumi district approximately 5hours long drive for rock paintings 289km from Kabong reaching your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/Airport via Nyero rock paintings in Kumi district and Source of the Nile in Jinja.

Wakeup to early morning heavy breakfast, checkout of the accommodation head for Rock paintings exploration Nyero rock paintings are so amazing for sight-seeing. This is an early Iron Age stone site and the paintings on the rock are found in three rock havens. A portion of the paintings on Nyero Rock symbolize animals, canoes and concentric circles. This type of rock art is part of a homogeneous tradition often depicted in the red pigment match the late Stone Age hunter-gatherers culture greatly attributed to Batwa who are pygmy origin after this exploration you will start your journey back to Kampala via Jinja town 3hours drive approximately 203km from Kumi for lunch break at source of the Nile Hotel later on you will have a relaxing afternoon on the River Nile 3 hour boat cruise that gives you exceptional breath taking views of surrounding Islands with plenty of wildlife Nile giant Lizards, African kingfish eagles, Herons as you draw close towards the very point where John Speke named it the source of the Nile in the middle of the river lies a curio shop selling Art and crafts you will get out of the boat take a tour around to safer point taking photographs mind about the slippery rocks after this you will retreat back to the shores to return to kampala reaching in the evening back at the Hotel or Airport for your flight.
