The 7 days Rwanda gorilla treking safari is a total primate and wildlife satisfactory safari with more than just one gorilla trekking experience, get to trek both Uganda and Rwanda mountain gorillas spiced up by an expedition to queen Elizabeth National Park, a home of various wildlife to include the big five.
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes
After breakfast your tour guide will transfer you to Ruhengeri. After checking-in at the lodge, you may opt for visit to the Ib’iwachu cultural village. Overnight at Mountain Gorillas view Hotel/ 5 Volcanoes Lodge (Luxury)/ Da Vinci Lodge, Gorilla Solution Lodge, Le bambou Lodge (Deluxe)/Muhabura Hotel (Budget)
Day 2: Golden Monkeys trekking in Volcanoes national park
Assemble at Kinigi park headquarters for briefing from the park ranger. Along with other trackers, go for golden monkeys tracking. You may opt to do Dian Fossey hike. On return you may cross over to Bwindi in Uganda for your first gorilla trek the following day. Or you may do your first gorilla trek in Volcanoes national park. All this depends on the cost and availability of gorilla permits at the time of your safari booking. In Bwindi you may stay an overnight in Chameleon Hill Lodge / Gorilla Safari Lodge / Gorilla Mist Camp / Bakiga Lodge
Day 3: 1st Gorilla trekking and transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, your tour guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing by the park warden. At 8:30 am local time, the gorilla trek begins. It normally takes between 2 to 8 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas in the jungle the previous night.overnight at Bakiga Lodge (mid-range), Gorilla Mist Camp/Gorilla Safari Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge(luxury).
Day 4: 2nd Gorilla tracking and transfer to QENP
This day do your second gorilla trek. This enhances your chances of interacting with gorillas in case the previous trek did not yield better results. On return from the gorilla trek, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge(luxury) / Enganzi Lodge(budget) / Park View Lodge(Mid-range)
Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park
Enjoy a morning game drive as you encounter 4 of the Big five including lions, leopard, elephants and buffaloes; others include waterbucks, Uganda kobs, sitatunga, etc. In the afternoon go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel – this is one of the best highlights Queen Elizabeth has to offer. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge(luxury) / Enganzi Lodge(budget) / Park View Lodge(Mid-range)
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest national park – chimps tracking
After an early morning breakfast transfer to Kibale Forest national park for an afternoon chimpanzee tracking. Overnight stay at Crater Safari Lodge(luxury),Primates lodge(mid-range), Chimpanzee Forest Camp(budget).
Day 7:Transfer back to Kigali or Entebbe airport
