Safari overview

The 6 days leg safari will take you through Lake Mburo National park (Whispers of the Wild) located in western part of Uganda in Kiruhura district 253km from Kampala passing Via Igongo Cultural Centre 28miles from Sanga the place is a journey back in time to a more elegant and tranquil age with atouch of contemporary style offering visitor information on cultural traditions of the west,  while Kalinzu Forest reserve is a tropical forest located along Kasese-Mbarara highway 85miles from Mbarara approximately 3 hours’ drive and 375km about 6hours drive from Kampala, it’s a home for 378 species of birds including sun birds, black and white casket, cuckoos and the Great Blue Turaco, it host also 97 moths, 262 butterflies ,flowers and reptiles plus 414 tree species, it also harbors primate species that include chimpanzee, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and baboons.

The action packed safari ends with Queen Elizabeth National park, located in western region is the most visited park by tourists in Uganda just 400km west of Kampala approximately 6hours drive to reach the park gate, its ecosystem like sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, lakes and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for Big games, primates including the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge, with over 600bird species, The Kazinga channel panoramic views offers the visitors wide range  of wildlife like Elephants, Buffalos and Hippos along its banks while the Ishasha sector offers a rewarding game drive to visitors whose  fig trees hide the Tree climbing Lions.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda.

On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be picked up by our English-speaking tour drive/guide that will transfer you to your kampala  accommodation.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park

The safari begins after an early morning breakfast, you will be briefed about your safari before embarking on 4hours drive to lake Mburo National park, 253km west of Kampala having a stop at the Equator monument at Kayabwe a long Masaka-Kampala highway, at point,  the earth is  divided into the southern and northern hemisphere an amazing experience where get the golden chance of  you putting one feet in the north hemisphere and another in the southern hemisphere, you will also be able checkout a simple demonstration of how water swirl in opposite directions at the different spheres you will thereafter proceed to Lake Mburo National park through Sanga gate reaching your accommodation in Lunch time have lunch. later in the evening you will have a game drive in open Savannahs of this park with variety of wildlife like Buffalos, Impalas, Zebras, Oribi, Bush Bucks, plenty of birdlife and primates like Baboons and Vervet Monkeys plus many more after return to you accommodation for Dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 3: Nature walk and Boat cruise.

After an early morning breakfast at exactly 6:00am, put on your hiking shoes on, pack a bottle of water ahead of a 3hours guided Nature walk in the park, you opt to take walk in Rubanga forest for the birders or Rwonyo saltlick watch hippos getting back in water or a hike that allows you to see the lakes surrounding. The Walk is conducted under guidance of an armed park ranger, from here you will retreat back at your lodging for Lunch and afternoon relaxation. later in the afternoon you will have a 3hour boat cruise on Lake Mburo with lots of wildlife like crocodiles,  hippos and  over 350 bird species  plus other wildlife along the water banks, stay alert for the interesting Mburo story to be told as you view Kigalama hill in  the background of a beautiful sunset view, after this experience you retreat back to the shore to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kalinzu Forest Reserve

Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will transfer to Kalinzu forest reserve located along Kasese-Mbarara highway 85miles from Mbarara approximately 3 hour’s drive passing via Igongo cultural center 12km to Mbarara town  with a museum that offers you a journey back in time of how the 17th century legendary kings lived, the museum preserves historical features and information of the elegant and tranquil ages, you can opt to have a 45minutes  hike to the Eclipse monument just opposite to the cultural center that gives you breath taking views on the green countryside thereafter proceed to Kalinzu Forest for chimp trekking reaching your accommodation in lunch time later in the afternoon you will have a nature in the Tropical forest with a rewarding variety of wildlife including primates like Black and white colombus Monkeys, Baboons, Butterflies, Birds like Great blue Turraco, black and white casket, cuckoos with over 414 tree species and many more the Walk takes about 2 to 3 hours after return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking  and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast early morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu forest with your tracking gear on, there over 300 Chimpanzees and trekking takes 2 to 5 hours, from here you will retreat back to your accommodation for lunch after you transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park 26km approximately 45minutes drive to the park main gate, check-in at your accommodation, later in the afternoon you will have a 3hours boat cruise along the panoramic views of Kazinga Channel where most of park wildlife congregates along the water banks including the Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos, crocodiles and water Birds after this experience return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 6: Morning Game drive and transfer back to Kampala

You wake up to the sounds on nature with an early morning breakfast ready to embark on your 3hours morning game drive in the open savannahs of the park a lot of wildlife including the buffalos, Elephants, Uganda kobs, Bushbuck, Topi, monkeys, Baboons, Hyenas along with lots of birds, along the Ishasha sector are the famous fig trees where mostly the Tree climbing lions hide as they patiently wait for prey, after enjoying this rewarding game drive you embark on your 4hours drive to Kampala passing via Mbarara town for Lunch reaching later in the evening drop-off at Airport/Accommodation
