Social impact tourism refers to tourism which is aimed at offering a positive impact to the environment and local communities in that it is associated with interactions between people and cultural backgrounds, attitudes, behaviors and many others.

We as Twist African Safaris prepare our  itineraries to embrace environmental conservation and positive social and cultural impact. We know that a brief encounter cannot yield a comprehensive understanding of the places and people visited, but still believe that our programs bring about a mutually enlightening journey for the host and visitors alike.  Our programs are holistic, providing an immersive travel experience seeking to offer at least a rudimentary understanding of many facets that comprise the way of life experienced: not just flora and fauna in isolation of the people, nor an attempt to meet people without learning of their history and culture.   Our local communities programs emphasize the right and interest of indigenous cultures to re-examine, retrace and revitalize past practices and values and assist them financially as part of our program to facilitate their social and economic development as they see fit.

Twist Africa is the leading surveyor of positive social impact tours in Uganda and Rwanda and our tours offer SIT packages, ranging from single day (half or full day tours) to multiple days depending on our dear visitors interest. Programs are characterized in many different ways, urban, rural, sports, cultural as well as religious. These programs take You to many memorable destinations in Uganda such as The National Museum,The Kabaka’s Palace,The Bahai Temple,The Uganda Matyrs Shrine,Mbale home of the last Jews and so much more.
